ABOUT

The bed bug develops through five immature stages before reaching the adult reproduction stage. This development process can take place iapproximately 22 to 36 days.

LIFE CYCLE OF A BUG

Each stage, from 1st instar/nymph to adult, has to take at least one blood meal in order to continue through the next successive stage to the adult bed bug. During this developmental growth period, they shed their skin (or molt) as they grow to the next stage, casting their old skin behind.

Over the last decade, heat treatments have become the preferred method of bed bug removal.  No chemicals are applied and more importantly, heat is the only method known to destroy bed bug eggs. No pesticide on the market can penetrate eggs, which means if you don’t use heat, the struggle to control these pests will continue after an initial treatment.
